Joe Devine
Hi, my name is Joe Devine. I attended Central Catholic High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I was born and raised in the East End of Pittsburgh. I am married and my wife Debbie is an art teacher. We have three children: Danny, Erin, and Sean. Our children have been involved in many sports such as football, softball, baseball and basketball, which have taken us to many parts of Pittsburgh.
I coached and managed Little League baseball in the Morningside area for four years. I also coached and managed Little League and Pony League baseball for eight years in the Sacred Heart organization in the Shadyside, Highland Park, and East Liberty neighborhoods. I served as vice president and subsequently as president of the Sacred Heart Little League organization. During my time spent managing Little League traveling baseball teams, I became very familiar with various areas of our city.
I really enjoy being a people person. This was important in my dealings with players and parents in my twelve years of baseball. I am proud to be a volunteer park ranger in a program initiated by Jim Ferlo. As a park ranger, I assist in patrolling Highland Park to clean up litter and check for potential dangers that need attention.
On a personal level, I have an extensive collection of music: rock, jazz, and soul. I am an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoy attending Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins games whenever possible.
Throughout my life, I have lived in Penn Hills, East Liberty, Shadyside, Wilkinsburg, and (for the last 21 years) Highland Park.
For 23 years I had a very successful career in management with the PA. Liquor Control Board. I received many awards for inventory control and above standard performance. However, I decided I needed a change in career and met someone who spurred my interest in real estate.
